School Equity Council
The School Equity Council is a representative advisory group that collaborates in advising the principal on the school’s budget and school improvement. The Council will look at the school’s environment, policies and our learning expectations in order to create the most inclusive and equitable community for our students and their families. The group will meet once a month. The law outlines four major areas of responsibility for councils. School Councils are to assist principals in:
- Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards
- Identifying the educational needs of students attending the school
- Reviewing the annual school building budget
- Formulating a school improvement plan
Friends of K-Lo
Started in 2017, the Friends of Kennedy-Longfellow is a parent and caregiver volunteer-led non-profit organization supporting the Kennedy-Longfellow School. Our mission is to raise money for the Kennedy-Longfellow School to help provide additional opportunities for our students outside of what the school budget provides. Our plans for collected funds include field trips, classroom libraries, and other needs identified by K-Lo teachers and staff. Visit their website >>
