East End House
East
End House community center uses a holistic approach to promote the
well-being, academic achievement, and successful transition to adulthood
of children and youth from under-resourced families in Cambridge and
surrounding communities. As part of the approach, East End House
provides support services to a diverse population, from infants to
seniors, to strengthen family and community. East End House’s School Age
Program enhances academic achievement and promotes overall development
for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. The program is
accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA), making it the only
nationally accredited afterschool program in Cambridge.
During
the school year the School Age Program operates from 2PM to 6PM after
school and full days during school vacations. Activities incorporate
multicultural and interdisciplinary activities, computer skills, math
and science classes, sports, reading and literacy projects, dance,
cooperative games and much more. The program places a particular
emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) studies as
well as developing character strengths. Children also receive structured
homework help.
East End House’s School Age Program also offers a
full-day, ten week program during the summer. Learn more >>
