Posted on 11/25/2015
Dear Parents,

On Wednesday, November 25, 2015 the Kennedy-Longfellow School will host the 27th Annual Turkey Trot Race on the track located behind the school. The Turkey Trot is a way for all children to experience physical competition in a positive light and is an event that has always been a successful and rewarding experience for all. Our Turkey Trot will consist of Competitive Races for students in Grades 3-5 and a Fitness Fun Run/Walk for students in Grades JK-2.

Competitive Race Divisions
3rd Grade Girls Division – ½ Mile
3rd Grade Boys Division – ½ Mile
4th Grade Girls Division – 1 Mile
4th Grade Boys Division – 1 Mile
5th Grade Girls Division – 1 Mile
5th Grade Boys Division – 1 Mile

** Races are optional. We would like everyone to participate in the Turkey Trot. Children who do not wish to run competitively will still participate in a non-competitive walk/run fitness activity around the track.

Grades JK-2 will participate in a non-competitive Fitness Fun Run/Walk around the track. All families are invited to participate with your child during this K-2 Fitness Fun Run/Walk.

Families are also welcome to cheer on their students in the grades 3-5 Competitive Races.

Note: In case of inclement weather, we will move the Turkey Trot indoors to the gymnasium.

In lieu of monetary donations, we will be asking all participants to donate one non-perishable food item. All items will be donated to the East End House Food Pantry.

Thank you very much for your support!
