KLO Awarded Equity Collaborative Grants

Congratulations to Kennedy-Longfellow School for being awarded three separate Equity Collaborative Grants for Spring of 2023!
Ms. Peiffer’s 3rd grade class will write a land acknowledgement to display in the Kennedy-Longfellow main lobby. This will encourage our community to honor the Indigenous Peoples of the land of which we work and live, and question the traditional dialogues of “discovery” and colonialism.
The Friends of KLO have been purchasing books for teachers that support our Anti-Bias/Anti-Racist Curriculum. There are so many great books we wanted to make sure everyone had access. With the help of the Equity grant, the “Friends of” will purchase full sets of these carefully selected books to be part of a lending library.
Books & Ballers afterschool program is starting its 3rd season in March. The B&B team requested funding to support the program so that the participants can go on a field trip to tour a college athletic facility and purchase supplemental supplies.
