LibraryThe year is off to a great start in the library. Our kids have borrowed 1,705 books already! We have read lots of great stories. Kindergartners have been exploring books by Lois Ehlert and first and second graders have explored library resources through "library centers." Third graders are becoming expert library navigators - learning to search the catalog and find items on the shelves. Fourth graders went on a field trip to meet author Maris Wicks. Fifth graders are exploring the books on the Massachusetts Children’s Book Award list and commenting about them on a Google classroom. In addition, our Cambridge Public Library kindergarten library card drive is underway: we will soon deliver Public Library Cards to all kindergartners who requested them!

We have lots of “e-resources” that families can use at home. These include Follettshelf ebooks, and our new Tumblebooks library. All of our links can be accessed from the library home page.

Our Librarian, Susan Moynihan, is looking for parents who would like to start a "Friends of the Kennedy-Longfellow Library" group to help support the library and its mission. If you are interested, please send her an email.

One last reminder: the library is only open during regular school hours as it needs to be staffed by our librarian.

Happy reading!
