We have been busy in the library! Fourth and fifth graders have been doing nonfiction research projects. Third graders have been learning about myths, legends, fairytales, fables, and other folklore. Students in kindergarten through 2nd grade have been exploring the library through activity centers, and learning about favorite children’s authors. All have been exposed to a variety of fiction and nonfiction.

Some highlights:
–Kids and teachers have borrowed more 3,423 library books since September!
–The library has been open to "early birds" (kids who are here before the first bell) most mornings. They read, play board games, or do puzzles before school begins.

What’s Coming Up

There will be some big changes in the library when the Cambridge Street Upper School moves into the building in February. Their collection will be housed in our second-floor space. As a result, we will see more middle schoolers in the K-5 library, and there will be more books for our advanced elementary readers to choose from. The CSUS librarian and I are committed to making this a positive experience for all the kids.
